On Wednesday, May 18th 2010, Mr. Sumio Fukaya, President and CEO of Hino Trucks, a Toyota Group Company, paid a visit to SchwartzTruck Center in Shrewsbury. Mr. Fukaya came to visit the dealership from Japan where Hino is based. Mr. Fukaya was more than satisfied with the dealership. He noted the professionalism of the staff and the family atmosphere that the dealership prides itself on. Schwartz is a family based dealership and they treat all of their employees, associates and customers like one of their own. They certainly made Mr. Fukaya feel right at home during his brief but rewarding visit to the dealership.
M. Schwartz and Sons have been a Hino dealer since 1984, which was the first year that Hino trucks were introduced to the United States. Maurice Schwartz, the grandfather of both Jon and Jim Schwartz who currently run their dealership, began selling trucks when he first opened the dealership in Redbank in 1919. Jon Schwartz has focused on both truck service as well as sales. The Schwartz Truck Center offers the skills of certified diesel technicians with over 50 years of experience. With Hino trucks that range from 14,000 lbs. GVW, to 33,000 lbs. GVW Schwartz can build box trucks, dump trucks, refrigerated trucks, plow trucks and much more all based upon Hino design and functionality.

During his time in Schwartz Truck Center, also the home of Schwartz Mazda, in Shrewsbury, Mr. Sumio Fukaya met with Mr. Nick Ciardiello. Mr. Ciardiello is a Fedex Ground Contractor who started purchasing Hino trucks more than a decade ago. Since then, he has built his fleet of over thirty Hino Trucks. For this, Mr. Fukaya presented Mr. Ciardiello two sets of keys.
Mr. Fukaya’s visit to Schwartz Truck Center was quite flattering as well as rewarding. Before he left, Mr. Fukaya promised the Schwartz brothers that he would be back soon and not to let much time lapse between visits.
